Our Hotel

With lovingly furnished apartments for up to 9 people, great rooms, a cozy restaurant with a large children's play area, a beautiful sun terrace, Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and the popular Hochkönig Card, the hotel stands out in the Salzburg region.

The hosts, Ronald and Sacha, personally ensure the well-being of their guests and are always on hand to offer advice and assistance.

In winter at our hotel in Maria Alm, it’s Ski in, Ski out! Located right next to the cross-country ski trail and the Natrun lifts, you’re just a few steps away from the Hochkönig ski area.

In summer, you can reach the outdoor pool, tennis courts, and the most beautiful hiking trails within a few minutes’ walk. With the Hochkönig Card, which you receive from us by arrival for free upon, you’ll enjoy fantastic benefits like access to the summer cable cars, the hiking bus, the summer toboggan, and much more.

We are Ronald and Sacha, originally from the Netherlands. Our love for nature and the mountains eventually led us to the beautiful Pinzgau region. Maria Alm has become our new home – and we love sharing the beauty of this region with guests from all over the world!

In winter, we enjoy skiing and snowshoeing, while in summer we love hiking, climbing, and biking. By now, we know the region like the back of our hand – so we’re happy to assist you with advice and support!

Sacha’s Tip

I love snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The Hotel Sonnenlicht is located directly on one of the 30-kilometer-long cross-country trails in Maria Alm—surrounded by a dreamlike winter landscape and the impressive panorama of the Steinernes Meer.
I enjoy the stream next to our hotel in every season: in summer for a refreshing dip, in winter for ice bathing.

 

Ronald’s Tip

If I had to pick just one activity, hiking through the breathtaking nature of Maria Alm would be my first choice. It clears the mind – and is a gentle exercise for the whole body. Reaching the summit cross after climbing through lush green meadows and fragrant flower fields is one of the best feelings in the world. The breathtaking view is definitely worth the hike and I guarantee, you’ll experience happiness all over your body!
